Burlap Wreath Tutorial

{Burlap Wreath}

Hello! Today I am sharing a really nice project my friend Ashley just completed. She says it is easy and fun to make. I think it turned out great. Ashley shared the instructions and images so you can make one too. Thanks Ashley for sharing!

Easy Burlap Wreath
by Ashley

Steps for the wreath:
1) Take a wire hanger and bend into a circular shape--You will probably need pliers for this
2) Cut 4" wide strips of burlap- you will need at least a yard of burlap ($3.99 per yard at Joann's)
3) Take strips of burlap and fold into accordian style, once you have folded poke end of hanger through center of each strip- continue until hanger is filled with material
4) Once you get enough burlap onto the hanger-- you may want to use a glue gun to get the strips to stay in place so they don't all fall to the bottom of the circle

{Flowers on wreath}

Steps for the flowers:
1) Cut burlap (or whatever fabric you choose) into approximately 2" strips--the longer the strip the bigger the flower (I used approximately 1 yard for mine)
2) Take each strip and tie a knot at the end, this will be the center of the flower
3) Twist fabric around knot- as you twist, you will twist away from the knot- also you will want to place dots of glue every couple of inches to keep the flower in tact
4) Once the flower is shaped you may glue a button in the center to spice it up a bit
5) I placed my flowers on card paper so that they were easier to glue onto wreath, but I don't know that this is necessary.
