June Workshops

Lovely Lamps: Friday June 22, 2-4 p.m.  

Bring your own lamp to revamp into something lovely!  We will cover the very popular zinc finish and transform it from drab to fab in this workshop. 
Price: $50.00. Please bring a lamp to revamp!

Chalk Paint™Beginner Techniques: Saturday June 23, 1-4 p.m. and Friday June 29, 1-4p.m. Workshop will cover the popular two color application "shabby chic", impasto and two color blend with a wash.  We will cover waxing basics and gilding wax.  Participants will leave with hand painted sample boards and a hand painted color chart. Price: $175.00

Chalk Paint™Advanced Techniques: Saturday June 30, 1-4 p.m.

  **Must take Beginner Techniques before Advanced**
Workshop will cover gold leaf, decoupage, crackle and each participant will finish an iron hook to take home with them, as well as sample boards. Price $195.00

 I just love these picture frames that Kohlston Designs makes and beautifully finishes in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™.  They are local artists from Knoxville, Tennessee and I am excited they are one of my great customers.  Check out their great work....

"We are Staci Kohlbusch and Kelly Huddleston. Little did we know when we met in 1998 that, within a few years, we would not only be really close friends but also sister-in-laws. Fast forward to 2011 and we are now business partners.

Having always enjoyed making frames for their own home, friends, and family, Kelly and her husband Andy's decision to expand their hobby into a business was an easy one. Staci, a first grade school teacher, was looking for opportunities to be able to stay at home with her three girls under 18 months. So in August 2011 we turned Staci's garage into a workshop and Kohlston Designs was formed.

Our home furnishings business is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. Early on, we experimented with different paints and waxes and quickly realized Annie Sloan Chalk Paint™ was exactly what we needed. It is the perfect paint for our frames because typically only one coat is needed and it is easy to distress. We were excited to find that there was a stockist for Annie Sloan™ paint and waxes at the store The Back Porch Mercantile at Ironic, a neat little shop located in the Bearden District.

We have put our individual gifts and talents together to create and run this business. Our main aim is to honor the Lord in our craftsmanship and give our customers a quality product they can be proud to display in their homes, a product that is unique and handcrafted.
